Tracking
Tracking by container number or bill of lading
Both work. Which one to use, and what to do when a reference is not found.
You can track by container number or by bill of lading. A BL often covers several containers, so tracking by BL returns the whole consignment; a container number returns that one box.
Container number format
Four letters then seven digits — for example MRSU6859427. The last digit is a check digit, so a typo is usually caught before we ever call the carrier.
When nothing is found
Most often the carrier has not published the booking yet; a new booking can take a day to appear. Check the reference for a stray space or a transposed digit, and confirm which line is actually carrying it — a reference that belongs to a different carrier will not resolve.
